Sohini had her first solo exhibition in Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata in 2016. She had her second solo exhibition at the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) in 2019 in Delhi and is about to have her third solo show at the same venue in November 2025.
Sohini lives in New Delhi. She has done her higher studies in the Mandarin Language from the School of Oriental & African Studies in London and from the Beijing Language & Culture University. Sohini also teaches Mandarin.
About the Artist
Sohini has been painting since childhood – inspired by the everyday unfolding of the seasons, impressions of city life and glimpses of the villages around Kolkata. She first learnt for a year in the Birla Academy of Arts & Culture and later moved for her studies to China and Europe and was attracted to the works of the European Masters. Her work, till today, is inspired by the works of the European Old Masters. She has been guided by Smt. Sulekha Chaki in Kolkata and later by Shri Bablu Basak in New Delhi.
